When couples come out for a tour, one of the first things they say is that they didn't expect to find this many places to photograph on one property. We hear it often, and honestly, it still makes us smile every time. The White Barn at Padgett Place sits on 33 acres in Lacey's Spring, AL, just 20 minutes from downtown Huntsville, and the variety of settings across the property means your photographer will never run out of backdrops. Whether you're drawn to open water, weathered wood, manicured greenery, or architectural lines, there's a spot here that fits.
Where the Property Does the Work for You
Good wedding photos don't require a team of stylists or a complicated shot list. They require interesting light, natural texture, and a little breathing room. Our property offers all three, and the spots listed below are on the same 33 acres your guests will explore on your wedding day.
The Gazebo by the Water
The 10-acre lake sits just beyond the gazebo, and that combination is the most requested photo location on the property. Early morning light reflects across the water, and late afternoon sun casts long, warm tones across the dock area. It works for intimate portraits, wedding party groups, and ceremony photos alike. The gazebo's framing keeps shots structured without feeling stiff.
The Concrete Aisleway
The outdoor aisleway reads differently in photos than it does in person. In images, it creates a strong visual line that draws the eye straight to the couple or the arbor. We offer three arbors at this location, so your photographer can frame the shot around your florals and design choices. It's a clean, architectural look that pairs well with both simple and elaborate decorations.
The White Barn Exterior
The barn's exterior has a lot going for it: clean white siding, natural wood accents, and enough height to allow for dramatic wide-angle frames. The surrounding trees soften the edges of the building in photos taken from a distance. Closer in, the barn doors and entryway create a natural arch that photographers use regularly for portrait work.

The Indoor Mezzanine
Inside the barn, the mezzanine level adds a vertical dimension that most venues don't have. Looking down from the mezzanine during a reception gives photographers an overhead perspective of the room, the table arrangements, and the dance floor below. Looking up from the floor level, it frames couples nicely against the barn's interior architecture.
The Bridal Suite and Groom's Room
Getting ready photos have become just as important as ceremony and reception shots, and both suites at The White Barn at Padgett Place are designed with space in mind. The bridal suite has its own private restroom and enough room for your wedding party to move around comfortably. The groom's room opens onto an outdoor leisure space, which gives photographers a natural light option for portraits during that part of the morning.
The Covered Patio
The climate-controlled patio connects the barn to the outdoors without fully committing to either. It's a transitional space, and transitional spaces tend to photograph well because of the layering. Guests, furniture, string lights, and natural greenery all appear in the same frame. It's a particularly useful spot during golden hour when the light is low and directional.
